Dr. Anqi (Angel) Tang, Doctor of Music Arts in Music Education, is a distinguished piano pedagogue, performer, and educator with a global career spanning piano performance, pedagogy, and research. She holds a Doctorate in Music Arts from Rutgers University, a Master of Arts in Music Education and Choral Conducting from Hong Kong Baptist University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Piano Performance from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Her expertise is further enriched by specialized studies in Kodály, Orff Schulwerk, and Dalcroze methods.

 

Dr. Tang has over a decade of diverse teaching experience at institutions such as Rutgers University and various music academies in the U.S. and China. She has served as Visiting Professor at Krirk University in Thailand and currently leads as CEO of Dr. T Children's Development School. Dr. Tang's teaching integrates a holistic approach, combining classical technique with innovative methodologies to cultivate both technical excellence and expressive artistry in her students.

 

Her leadership roles include Vice President of the World Piano Teachers Association (WPTA) China, President of WPTA’s Piano Performance and Pedagogy Association, and Vice President of the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association (ECMMA). She has organized numerous workshops and seminars to promote professional development for music educators worldwide.

 

As a prolific composer and researcher, Dr. Tang has published articles in renowned journals and authored educational books focused on early music education and piano pedagogy. Her work frequently explores the integration of modern technologies into traditional piano teaching. She is a sought-after conference presenter, having delivered lectures on topics such as intelligent piano technologies and Chinese folk song adaptation for piano.

 

Dr. Tang's students consistently excel in competitions, a testament to her dedication to their artistic and technical growth. As a piano competition judge, she brings her comprehensive expertise in piano performance, pedagogy, and music education, offering insightful, constructive feedback to contestants. Her commitment to nurturing musical talent has established her as a respected and inspiring figure in the global piano community.
