Praised for his “Extraordinary technique with enormous enthusiasm.” (Fort Worth Weekly), pianist Yuchong Wu is the prize winner of International Tchaikovsky Young Artist piano competition, Piano Texas Beethoven concerto competition, Juilliard Gina Bachauer scholarship competition, Munz scholarship competition, International Sendai piano competition, International Young Concert Artist audition, International Bosendofer piano competition, International Hilton Head piano competition and International Leeds piano competition. 

Since Yuchong Wu’s orchestral debut at age 12 with the Xi’an conservatory of music symphony orchestra, where he performed Chopin piano concerto no.2, he has performed with Fort Worth symphony orchestra, Russian national symphony orchestra, GyeongGi-Do Suwon Philharmonic orchestra, China national orchestra, Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Shannxi Philharmonic Orchestra, Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, Xi’an City Orchestra and Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra. 

As a soloist, Yuchong has performed across the US and internationally in China, England, Germany, France, Russia, Switzerland, Netherland, Poland, Korea and Japan at prestigious venues such as the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, Leeds University Great Hall, Auditorium du Louvre, Sendai City Youth Cultural Center, Carnegie Hall, Peter G-Sharp Theatre, Paul Hall at Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert hall, China national music hall, Ed Landreth Auditorium, Pepsico Recital Hall, GyeongGi-Do Music Center, Yamaha Piano Salon and Alice Tully Hall. He has also performed in WQXR 32 Beethoven sonata cycle, From the top, the Juilliard chamber music festival, Four season winter workshop and Verbier Festival.

Yuchong has had the honor to work with distinguished pianists, including Paul-Badura Skoda, Leon Fleisher, Menahem Pressler, Robert Levin, Sir Andras Schiff, Murray Perahia, Jerome Lowenthal and Gary Graffman, Mitsuko Uchida. 

Yuchong Wu Started learning piano at the age of 4 and made his debut recital at the age of 9. After learning piano with Zhuangzhuang Li, chair of Piano Department of Xi’an Conservatory of Music, he later pursued his high school diploma and Bachelor of Music Degree at the Juilliard School under the guidance of Matti Raekallio, Veda Kaplinsky and Robert McDonald with full-tuition scholarship. Yuchong is currently pursuing his Master of Music Degree and Advanced Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Christopher Elton.
