Yawen (Emma) Wang is an accomplished pianist and educator with extensive experience in performance and teaching. She is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) and is actively involved in various international music organizations. Recognized for her exceptional artistry and profound musicality, she has performed in multiple countries, earning high praise from both audiences and professionals in the field.

Emma earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Tianjin Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Professor Chen Lei and received additional guidance from Professors Xie Yuan, Qian Lina, and Alexey Sokolov. She later pursued advanced studies in the United States, obtaining her Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music (Queens College, CUNY under the mentorship of Professor Morey Ritt. Throughout her academic career, she has been recognized for her exceptional talent, presenting numerous solo recitals, including those at the Aaron Copland School of Music in 2018 and 2021. She has also won multiple awards in prestigious piano competitions.

Beyond her performance career, Emma is a highly respected piano educator with over 15 years of teaching experience. She has taught in both public and private schools, designed curricula, trained music teachers, and organized various musical events. Since 2008, she has been dedicated to preparing students for piano examinations and competitions, with her students consistently achieving top results in international competitions and graded exams. She has also studied piano pedagogy extensively, including multiple courses with Dr. Donald Pirone, continuously refining her teaching approach to ensure a comprehensive education in music theory, technique, and interpretation.

Emma firmly believes that interest and effort are the keys to successful piano learning. She emphasizes a balanced approach to musical education, integrating technical training with artistic expression, and encourages students to develop both strong foundational skills and a genuine love for music. Her teaching philosophy not only helps students achieve excellence in their musical studies but also inspires them to find true enjoyment and fulfillment in their musical journey.
